After taking a 3-1 decision against the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 on Tuesday night, the Detroit Red Wings have a chance to become only the fourth team in NHL history to come back from a 3-0 series deficit to win, but they still need to get that ever-elusive fourth win in a series.
Can Pavel Datsyuk, Jimmy Howard the Red Wings make history on Thursday night against the Sharks? Bet on the NHL playoffs with Bodog.
After several momentum shifts throughout the series, it’s come down to a winner-take-all, best-of-one game at the HP Pavilion at San Jose. It’s been a battle of tradition versus youth as the dynasty-esque Red Wings fight for supremacy against the Sharks, who appear to have finally put it together after years of stumbling through the postseason.
The Red Wings ousted the Sharks in the 2007 NHL playoffs in six games. The two wouldn’t meet again in the postseason until last year when the Sharks only needed five games to get their revenge. This Game 7 holds not only the privilege to advance in to the Conference Final, but also bragging rights for the last half-decade of hockey.
Bodog’s online sportsbook has both the Red Wings and the Sharks as 13/2 odds of winning the Stanley Cup, but those odds will get better for the victor after Thursday’s game.
The winner of Thursday night’s game will have a short rest before starting the Western Conference Final series against the President’s Cup-winning Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.
Do you believe the Red Wings have what it takes to make history, or will the Sharks pull it out after all on home ice?
