With an unpredictable Northeast Division still relatively wide open, the Sens are in a favorable position to hang on for one of the final postseason openings. In order to get there, however, they’ll have to show any potential threats around them that they’re willing to fight for the cause.
This Tuesday the Sens will make the trip south for battle with the Tampa Bay Lightning, a similarly disenchanted franchise capable of rallying late in the season for one of the last remaining East seeds.
Lead by Jason Spezza, Daniel Alfredsson, Craig Anderson and 3rd year defenseman Erik Karlsson, the Sens are looking to wipe last season’s dismal campaign and bring back the success of the teams 2007 Stanley Cup run.
More than anything, what’s plagued Ottawa on the NHL betting line has been a lack of consistency. The team hasn’t qualified for postseason berths in consecutive seasons since 2007.
