The Wild began the season as one of the hottest teams in the league, jumping out into first place in the Western Conference, but an eight-game losing streak in December stunted that success and now the team finds themselves struggling to stay ahead.
After last season’s Game 7 meltdown, the Canucks have regrouped and are playing up to their potential. They remain one of the most dominant teams in the league and actually earned more than 20 points in December alone.
This is the point in the year when looking at the standings becomes more important. Mere points separate these two in the standings, but with the three-point lead, not winning the division means one of these teams could find themselves in fifth or sixth place in the Conference, or worse.
When these two teams meet at Rogers Arena in Vancouver tonight, a lot more than just two points will be on the line. Make sure you check out this battle of division rivals.
