NBA Bettors Should Bet On Hockey

On June 30, 2011 the NBA announced that the NBA players will be locked when the CBA expired at midnight. This has left NBA bettors without a sport to bet on.

The lockout has continued until today, and now NBA commissioner David Stern announced the cancellation of games through the end of November. He also stated ‘there will not be a full NBA season’ of NBA games played.

If the NBA lockout is resolved, the 2011-2012 NBA season will have a regular season with fewer than the regular 82 game schedule for the first time since the league had a 50 game schedule in 1998-1999.

Possibilities of the NBA playing a shortened 2011-2012 season, or no 2011-2012 season at all both exist.

So what do NBA bettors do as they wait for the NBA lockout to end? Bet on NHL hockey games of course!

BetOnHockey_NHL_150x170.jpgThe NHL has dealt with their share of work stoppages. The 1994-1995 NHL lockout cancelled many games, and shortened the season to 48 games. The 2004-2005 NHL lockout ended up canceling the entire season.

However, these work stoppages have created the foundation of the National Hockey League today. A solid business model that experienced the “unprecedented success off the ice, achieving myriad business records and milestones.”

The good news for NBA bettors and fans is that the NBA will eventually come out of the 2011-2012 lockout stronger as a league. The bad news is that the lockout will continue into December.

Until then, BetOnHockey.com would like to share the great game of hockey with all the NBA bettors and fans!
