Bruins Win Over Canucks Alters NHL Betting

The Boston Bruins blowout win over the Vancouver Canucks has altered the NHL betting landscape for the Stanley Cup Finals.

BetOnHockey Bruins Win 300x381.jpgJust when it looked as though the Vancouver Canucks were about to take a stranglehold on the Stanley Cup Finals, an inspired Boston Bruins team managed to storm back into the championship picture with an impeccable 8-1 home rout.

After dropping both Games 1 and 2 in Vancouver - with little luck finding an answer for goaltender Roberto Luongo - the B’s had their Eureka moment Monday night.

It’s put betting on the Stanley Cup Finals in a whole new perspective.

Though they didn’t score at all in the first period, an Andrew Ference slapshot in the second period triggered an avalanche of goals that didn’t end until the final minute of the third.

But the convincing victory did more than simply narrow Vancouver’s lead on the series (now the best-of-seven sits at 2-1), it obliterated any momentum the Canucks might have had heading into Wednesday’s Game 4.

Luongo, who until that point had stopped 64 of 66 shots, was on the hook for each of the eight goals, begging the question of how he - or anyone - could possibly adapt. Is it even possible to rebound from such an onslaught so soon?
