Originally from Kelowna BC, Canada, I've played hockey since the age of five, and it's been my passion since then. Life and hockey have taken me all over the world in different capacities. I played junior hockey in the KIJHL for the Creston Thundercats in 2001-02, college hockey in the ACAC for Briercrest College from 2002-2006, travelled to Kazakhstan with Athletes In Action to compete in a tournament against teams in the Kazakh pro league in 2005, and played one season as a pro in Lyon, France in 2006-07. I got married in 2007, and my wife and I taugh english in South Korea from 2008-2009. In that time, we also got to travel to China, Japan, and Thailand.
Now back in Kelowna, I’m a BCRPA certified personal trainer, and I've taken up a few opportunities to coach hockey at different levels. I also write for the sports section of the Kelowna Daily Courier newspaper.
My personal blog is at www.davecunning.wordpress.com — which generally focuses on hockey, but also veers off sometimes to random, serious, humorous (well, to me) topics, or pretty well whatever I feel like writing about. I use all my own material, and do my best not to write about things that are already being talked by everyone else too often. I hope you find it original, entertaining, and maybe even educational from time to time.
I'm pumped to be part of the BetOnHockey.com team, and am looking forward to contributing to the website!
